Would the Real City of Champions Please Stand Up

by: The PensNation Staff

Detroit has become the City of Whiners

I tried to stay away from this as long as I could since the finals had ended and all that came out that Crosby didn't shake Lidstrom's hand after the game. But as I was looking around the blogosphere today I came across this gem about some book called "Detroit City of the Champions: The Story of the Most Important Season in Detroit Sports History"which I have no problem with the name of the book my problem stems from the author's remarks to Pittsburgh the great city that it is calling itself the "City of Champions". Being a fellow Pittsburgher like many of you are I took offense to this and continued to read the article, as things progress he calls Crosby ignorant for not knowing his history, but if you think real hard or just goto to Amazon and type in "City of Champions" there is a book called "Pittsburgh the Story of a City of Champions"that was published in 1980 which is 8 whole years before the genius came up with the idea for his book about Detroit.

And if you think even harder I believe it was Howard Cosell dubbed Pittsburgh the City of Champions in 1979 after the Steelers brought home 4 Super Bowls, the Pirates 2 World Series and the Pitt Panthers a National Championship all in the span of a decade.

I'm done proving my point to see the article for yourself you can go here . One final word Detroit get over it you lost, you didn't see or hear Pittsburgher's moping around and complaining when we lost in the cup final last year.
