The Price is Wrong Bob, Pens Win

by: The PensNation Staff

Penguins VS Canadiens
5   4

The Penguins took it to the Montreal Canadiens last night using something we haven't seen much of this season a North-South game, and it actually worked for them, even though they took some dumb penanalties and gave the Canadiens chance after chance to win this game they came out on top.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stretches before the game

1st Period

The Pens dominated the first period, they almost looked like the team that was in the playoffs last year. At the 5 minute mark of the period Godard tried to kick Laraque's ass but he chickened out and started running after they dropped the gloves.

For once the Penguins out shot their opponent in a period allowing only 3 Canadien shots on goal which translated into a 1-0 lead for the Pens on a Petr Sykora goal.

2nd Period

The Pens allowed the Canadiens to claw their way back into this one with the help of the officials and by taking some dumb penalties. The Pens managed to escape this period with a 2-2 tie after goals from Satan for the Penguins and Plekanec & Schneider for the Canadiens.

Max Talbot, Jordan Staal, and Matt Cooke celebrate a goal in the third period

3rd Period

Period starts with the two-headed monster line and it pays off 29 seconds in when Geno does a belly flop onto the ice and directs a pass from Sid behind Carey Price. And then both goalies decided to take the next 8 minutes off giving up 4 goals 2 to each team in a matter of 4:18 and then Fleury shut it down making some incredible saves giving the Penguins the win and a much needed 2 points in the standings.
