Should I Stay or Should I Go Now

As we all know the NHL Free Agency season is approaching quickly, so lets take a look at some of the impending free agents and whether or not we think they will stay or go.

Craig Adams - RW

08-09 Cap Hit:$600,000

Stay or Go: I think for the right price like somewhere in the neighborhood of what he made in 08 he would likely stay here in Pittsburgh. Let's not forget he was acquired from Chicago off of waivers at the trade deadline.

Philippe Boucher- D

08-09 Cap Hit:$2.5 Million

Stay or Go:Gone... Unless he is willing to take a steep paycut over last year's salary. There is no need for the Pens to invest this kind of money into a seventh defenseman.

Ruslan Fedotenko- LW

08-09 Cap Hit:$2.25 Million

Stay or Go:Stay. If he is willing to come back at or around the same price as this year I believe he will be a valuable comodity especially with the way he performed in the playoffs this year.

Mathieu Garon- G

08-09 Cap Hit:$1.1 Million

Stay or Go: Gone. The Penguins don't need to carry a million dollar back-up goalie anymore, with Fleury making 5 mill against the cap and John Curry more than ready to come in as a back-up there is no need to kep Garon.

Hal Gill- D

08-09 Cap Hit:$2.075 Million

Stay or Go: The U.S.S Hal Gill will be shipping out to sea. Much like Boucher unless he is willing to take a significant pay cut there is no real way for the Penguins to be able to afford to keep him.

Rob Scuderi‚  - D

08-09 Cap Hit:$712,500

Stay or Go: This is a toss up for me. I'd like to see him stay and I believe he wants to stay but it will all come down to the money factor as his salary this year was a steal for his caliber in the NHL. There is talks that he will have Jeff Finger money thrown at him and if you don't know what that is, it is in the neighboorhood of 3.5 mill. If he is willing to sign with the Pens for we will say 2-2.5 I think that the Pens can squeeze that into the salary cap.

Bill Guerin- RW

08-09 Cap Hit:$4.5 Million

Stay or Go: Stay, but at what price. There is no way the Pens can afford the 4.5 mill price tag he carried last year, he wants to stay here so we will see what happens.

Miroslav Satan- RW

08-09 Cap Hit:3.5 Million

Stay or Go: Goner. Even though he proved his worth in the playoffs he never did what he was brought in to do and that was to be on the first line with Sid.

Mike Zigomanis- C

08-09 Cap Hit:$650,000

Stay or Go: Stay, the Pens should have no problems signing him for fairly cheap. He is also looking to rebound after missing almost the entire season with injury.

Petr Sykora- RW

08-09 Cap Hit: $2.5 Million

Stay or Go:Gone. His played seemed to tail off this season whether it was due to injury or what I don't see him fitting into the plans in the future.
