First off, sorry I missed the GameDay for this one, it has been a crazy couple of days around here actually a couple of weeks, but things are starting to get back on track onto the game at hand. You could not have ask for a better game 1 from the Pittsburgh Penguins then what you witnessed last night. Flower made some remarkable saves to keep the Penguins ahead in this game and allow them to gain the 2 goal cushion again after losing it in the second. On the other end of the ice Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward kept the Canes' in it for the entire 60 minutes, if not for him this may have ended a lopsided victory for the Pens with all the opportunities they had on the evening.

In the first period things started to look like another Penguins rout as the Pens tallied 2 quick goals from Satan and Malkin and spectacular goaltending from Fleury early on, kept the likes of Staal, Corvo, and LaRose off the scoresheet. It wasn't until the second period that Hurricanes came at full force and even then Flower stood tall only allowing 1 puck by. The Pens had numerous chances on the other end from Billy G. and company but were robbed on more than one occassion from creating a bigger lead. It wasn't until the Waterboy Philippe Boucher slid one from the point past Ward to put the Penguins up by 2 goals again.‚
The 'Canes would not be denied as they got on the power play and were able to get a 2 man advantage with the goalie on the bench. Eric Staal the douche that he is knocked Fleury's stick from his hand and whacked it to the side aloowing LaRose to put one by while Flower played with ScuderI's stick. With about 1 minute remaining in regulation the Hurricanes unleashed WW3 on Marc-Andre Fleury, but he stood tall and closed the kitchen giving the Pens the win and a 1-0 game advantage in the series.
LET'S GO PENS
