Penguins Dethrone The Kings

by: The PensNation Staff

Penguins VS Kings
4   1

The game didn't start very well in the Penguins favor as they took to dumb penalties early, so I put the TV on mute and looked away hoping better things were yet to come and no sooner did I look around when Crosby intercepted a pass in the offensive zone and backhands it in for the 1-0 lead. Then a couple minutes later Sid found Geno in front of the net for another goal giving the Pens a 2-0 lead going into the intermission.

The Penguins didn't stop the attack in the second period as the continued to dominate the Queens of Los Angeles. Even though they had to overcome some penalaties early the Pens still mananaged to get some key goals from Tyler Kennedy and Bill Guerin in the period to all but seal the victory for the Penguins going into the third and final frame.

In the third period the Penguins shut down the game only allowing one goal by the LA Kings which came on a 5-on-3 effort while Mark Eaton and Jordan Staal were spending some quality time in the sin bin. The Penguins were clicking on all cylinders in this game after a rather slow start and were able to kill 10-of-11 penalties on night, which could have cost them the game early on had they not.
