Mario Lemieux passes the Stanley Cup onto Sidney Crosby

Mario Lemieux was nighted last night into the Order of Quebec las night. Which happens to be the highest honor in the province given‚ for meritorious service.



Premier Jean Charest called him "one of the greatest hockey players in history." Lemieux, winner of two Stanley Cups as a player, is now co-owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"I've been in Pittsburgh for 25 years. A bit more than one-half of my life has been spent (away), so to be recognized in Quebec is something very special," Lemieux told The Canadian Press.
