Kennedy... Mr. Kennedy

by: The PensNation Staff

Penguins VS Red Wings
4   2

Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury comes down the tunnel for the start of the game.

When I said that last night's game was HUGE I didn't think it was going to play out the way it did, everyone was going into this one looking to squeak out a win and take this series back to Detroit tied up. No one could have called the way this ended with the Pens handling the Red Wings in a dominating fashion. In a period where the Penguins have been rather absent throughout the playoffs the Pens may have put together their most dominant 20 minutes of play thus far this post season by scoring 3 goals in 5:33.

Penguins center Jordan Staal celebrates after his game tieng shorthanded goal in the second period

The first of three goals came from the stick of Jordan Staal short-handed as Brooks Orpik was in the box on a ticky-tacky call towards the end of the Pens first penalty kill. The second of three goals was a beauty when Geno setup Sid with a cross ice pass for him to bury. The third and what would be final goal of the game came from Tyler Kennedy in what will most likely be a highlight reel goal for awhile, it all started when Kennedy came off the bench and intercepted a pass and fed it along to Kunitz whom intern fed Crosby in front of the net who found T.K. standing to the right if Osgood who was already committed to Sid and left the goal wide open for Kennedy.

Game 5 is in Detroit on Saturday night at 8:00 PM on NBC, so no watching on Mario's TV outside of Gate 3. But you can watch the game at Diesel with Steigy and Trotts doing some commentary in between whistles.

LET'S GO PENS
