Penguins VS Islanders
6   1

Jordan Staal and Matt Cooke help Mike Zigomanis to center ice for Shirts off out Backs night.

The Penguins took it to the New York Islanders last night and made it look easy. Minus the first couple minutes of the game they were able to make the Isles look like a minot league team with the way they manhandled them throughout 3 periods of hockey limiting the Islanders to very few scoring opportunities following their first and only goal in the opening minutes of the game. Even Penguin defenseman Philippe Boucher whom hasn't played a game in almost three months gave the happless Islanders trouble tallying 1 goal and 1 assist on the evening. Star center Evgeni Malkin was also able to widen the gap in the points race with 2 assists while Ovechkin was shutout last night.

Goaltender Mathieu Garon allowed only 1 goal on 29 shots from the Islanders

There isn't much to say about this game except that Garon was spectacular in goal when he needed to be and the Penguins played an almost flawless game against a weaker opponent in the New York Islanders. The Penguins go on the road for the final game of the season against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night in what may boost the Penguins playoff seeding in the Eastern Conference.
