In With The New - The Remaining FAs

by: The PensNation Staff

The Pens made a couple other not so big free agent signings since the first of July, they include Brian Strait, Nate Guenin, Chris Conner, and Chris Lee. Each being a quality signing, but if I remember correctly all are on 2-way contracts so we won't be seeing a ton of these guys unless someone gets hurt at some point during the season. Brian Strait being a defenseman out of Boston College may get the most attention, but with there already being 6 defenseman set on the Pens roster he will most likely be fighting for the 7th spot with the Reverend Ben Lovejoy.

Chris Conner whom came over from the Stars played in 38 NHL games last season on a team that doesn't have forwards like that of the Penguins. Nate Guenin the defenseman that came over from the Flyers may not see much more time in the NHL than his whopping 1-game last year, but once again injuries could put him the lineup. The last FA signed in this list is Chris Lee, now I couldn't find too much information on this guy the only notable thing I was able to dig up is that since he broke into the league in 2004 he has never reached higher than the AHL as a defenseman in the New York Islanders minor league system.
