In With The New - Brent Johnson

After a long weekend filled with painting, Hofbrauhaus, Rowdy's BBQ (I highly reccomend "The Big Pig"), and your sister we are back at it with a look at the Penguins new backup goaltender Brent Johnson. Johnson is coming over from the Capitals and in my opinion should have had a legitimate shot at the starting position over the unreliable Jose Theodore, but he is coming to the Penguins and will fill the backup to Fleury role quite nicely. He brings something to the table the Penguins somewhat lacked last year until Garon came over from Edmonton, which is a legitimate contending goalie to push Flower to be his best and not slack off like he may have done when Sabu was the backup and there was no threat of him taking over full time duties. Don't look for Johnson to carry a heavy load this season, but rather look to see him between the pipes about 20 times as a starter that is barring any injury to Fleury.
