Gonchar Out a Month?

by: The PensNation Staff

According to my favorite sports writer Rob Rossi, Penguins defenseman Sergei Gonchar has a broken bone near his hand or wrist and could be out of the line up for at least a month. The team plans to re-evaluate Gonchar today to determine the seriousness of the injury and its precise location. Gonch was injured in the second period of last nights contest against the St. Louis Blues. More info on this as it becomes available.

Update: It has just been released from the Dan Bylsma press conference that Sergei Gonchar will be out 4-6 weeks with a broken wrist. This means that Kris Letang will take his place on the power play and Martin Skoula will be seeing some ice time while Gonch is out.
