The Penguins did exactly what they needed to do last night. The Penguins came out firing early on and took a 1-0 lead early in the first period, but relinquished the lead and fell behind shortly there after when the Red Wings got on the attack. Not to be out done the Pens went on the power play towards the end of the first and after Kris Letang fumbled the puck around at the point he unleashed a scorcher past Osgood to tie things up again at 2 a piece. I'll admit I was concerned for a little bit there in the first beofre the Pens tied things up, because it looked as if they quit playing for the first couple minutes after their first goal.

Detroit pretty much dominated the entire second period from end to end and had a absurd 26-11 shot lead after the second period, but the Flower denied all opportunities the Red Wings had in the second. The Pens decided that was enough and came out in the third and allowed only 3 Red Wing shots in the third as the Pens stormed their way to a power play and the go ahead goal halfway thru the final frame. The Pens sealed the deal with an empty netter from Max Talbot in the waning minutes of the third. Game 4 is in Pittsburgh on Thursday night at 8:00pm, Let's Do This...
LET'S GO PENS
