Fleury and Crosby Named to Canadian Olympic Team

by: The PensNation Staff

Sidney Crosby and Marc-Andre Fleury were both named to the Canadian Olympic team today

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury were both named to Canadian Olympic roster this afternoon. This will be the first Olympics for both players, but it is neither players first time in international play as they both suited up for the Canadian team in the World Junior Championships earlier this decade. They will be joining other Penguins at the Olympics such as Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar whome were selected to the Russian team last week. There are also a slew of former Penguins that have been selected to their respective country's team, such as Miroslav Satan, Jarmoir Jagr, and Marian Hossa.

"I think whoever you play with this group of players is going to be pretty awesome, Crosby said. "I look back to the evaluation camp this summer and I played with Rick Nash and Jarome Iginla and that was a pretty fun time for me. There is so much talent that I think making lines should be a pretty easy thing to do."
